Example of illogical Da'awah
I saw a video the other day. I don't remember which platform I was on, but it was some sheikh, a well known diary. And he was lecturing people and saying, imagine if you were to go to Jannah and you meet some of the Sahaba and you don't know them, like say, Salman ibn al Atwa. You've never heard of him. You know, great Sahabi.
He mentioned a few others from the Sahaba who are you know, everyone knows Abu Bakr and Omar and Ali and Rahman and so on. But many of the Sahaba are unknown to a large proportion of the Muslims who don't study the Sira and so on, who don't study hadith and whatnot. And he was saying, imagine the problem, you know. You know he he said he he said, for example, you see people in Jannah, you see the Sahaba in Jannah and you don't know them. And then you say, well, let me visit, take me on a tour of Jahannam, and you'll see all of these people that you know, these celebrities and whatnot, these people who you're you're familiar with in popular culture, and saying that it's a problem if if you know more people in Jahannam than the righteous people in Jahannam.
And, of course, his point was that you should try to learn about the Sahaba. But you see the problem with this, this line of reasoning, he's talking about your. You made it. By definition, you have succeeded. And apparently, were able to get the without knowing all of these details in the Sira.
You were apparently able to get to Jannah without knowing who is Salama Salama Ibn Al Akwa and and the other Sahaba. Okay. It's your loss in this life if you don't know about those people, if you don't know about the best generation of mankind. That will help you in your life. But he's by his own point, he's saying that, in fact, you don't need to know about them in order to make it to Jannah. And then saying that somehow it's a problem if you are in Jannah,
but you don't know these lesser known Sahaba. How? You made it. You're in Jannah. You succeeded.
You reached the victory. You see, this this is where that is lose me. Like, if you want to emphasize the importance of learning about the Sahaba, learning the Sira, and so on, do that. Explain to people how it's beneficial to them in their life. But you don't have to know all of the Sahaba.
You don't have to know all the details of the Sira. You don't have to know all the details of fiqh. You don't have to know all of these things in order to reach Jannah, even by your own lecture. You're telling people, you've made it to Jannah, but, it's it's a tragic mistake that you don't know this Sahabi or that Sahabi. No.
It's not. You made it to Jannah, halas. As long as you're doing what you need to do in in order to get to Jannah, you have succeeded, and you have fulfilled your duty as a Muslim. So yes. Okay.
Emphasize the importance of learning the Sirah. Emphasize the usefulness and the benefit that you can get from learning the surah and learning about the sahabah and learning the hadiths and learning fit and so on and so on and so on. But acknowledge that there is a base level of iman. There's a base level of knowledge of that you need to have that can facilitate your entry into Jannah, and it doesn't include the minutiae of Islam. Knowing the minutiae of Islam can benefit you and be useful for you in this life, and it can, inshallah, improve your rank in Jannah depending on what you do with that knowledge and with that information if you if you use it properly, because you can certainly have knowledge and not be righteous.
But don't tell people and don't indicate to people or don't imply to people that they can be in Jannah and still have a problem, that they're still not good enough. They're still not Muslim enough after they've already been admitted into Jannah. This is where you all lose me.
