YOU Are Their Wealth

Well, I'll put it this way. You're the wealth. You are their wealth. You're the natural resource that they exploit. You're the minerals that they're mining.

The money that they pay you, the money that you earn, that's the wealth that they are extracting. They mine it by advertising, they mine it by branding, by celebrity endorsements, by marketing, by the whole materialistic culture that they indoctrinate you in and they do it by debt. They mine it by debt. So you're no different really than any other people in the world that they exploit. Only the means and the manner of the exploitation is different.

Why when I see you all out in the street, you know, protesting for Gaza, pro Palestine marches and demonstrations and so on, all I see is their wealth. Because that's what you are and that's what they see if you only knew it. When you're out there in the streets protesting for Gaza, believe me, they're looking down from boardroom windows, from the tops of office buildings watching their money flowing away from them, Just like so many dollar bills just scattering in the wind, and I'm telling you they'll do anything to get you back. They'll do anything to get their money back because that's what you are to them. Well it's the same as in any country in the global South, that they colonize and extract the natural resources, the minerals, the diamonds, the gold, the oil, the gas, the rare earths, and so on.

And then they make the people in the global South believe, the people of that land, they believe that they are doing them a favor by taking their resources. It's just like with you. Apple isn't doing you a favor by taking your money for an iPhone, you're doing them a favor. Starbucks isn't doing you a favor by taking way too much money for a cup of coffee, you're doing them a favor. They're doing nothing but extracting your wealth, not from your land but right from your pocket.

And that's what makes them rich. You're what makes them rich if you only knew it. Without you they're nothing. And if you don't go along with the exploitation, they'll negotiate with you. You can set the terms.

You can determine the value of your wealth and you should value your wealth at least as much as they value your wealth and your wealth is more valuable to them than anything. So you need to connect the value of your money to the value of your principles, the value of your morals, your belief, and your faith. In other words you need to insist on a fair exchange. You're dealing with people who if they can't pillage and exploit by their bargain, they'll negotiate. You can turn exploitation into an equitable transaction.

No justice, no profit. Yeah. I know that money is your only language so I'll pay you to be just. I'll pay you to use your power and your position to demand justice. We collectively as consumers agree to hire you to be our lobbyist for justice and peace in Palestine.

And if you don't want the job, then you don't get the wages. You don't get paid. You don't get our money. That's the offer. So take it or leave it because we know that you need us a lot more than we need you.
