When "Islam says" means "shut up"

Middle Nation · 3 Jun 2022 · 0:54 · YouTube

If someone ever tells you online or in person, the Islamic position on such and such is thus and so, almost always they're wrong. Because on any given topic, in Islam, in the history of Fiqh, you will find multiple opinions. So whenever someone tells you this is the Islamic position, they are, demonstrating their own ignorance, and they are trying to shut you down. They're saying it to shut down conversation, shut down discussion, shut down debate, and to try to basically shame you into accepting whatever position it is that they're taking. They want an unqualified capitulation from you with their opinion by saying, my opinion happens to be the Islamic opinion.

But like I said, on almost any issue you can think of, there are a multiplicity of opinions.
