Timeless concerns

Imagine if time was a globe and you could spin it and put your finger down and land on any place in history over the last fourteen hundred years. You would find that where you landed, most of the same issues that people are talking about today, they were talking about then. The ideas of, equality or women's rights or all of these types of things. You really expose how western centric you are. Just because, the West talks about it and we talk about it, it doesn't mean we're talking about it because of the West.

We've been talking about it. Give some credit to the Muslims that we actually do generate our own ideas. We do actually generate our own opinions. We actually do generate our own social movements and our own concerns. And we're not just aping the West and following the West in anything and everything.

These are issues and matters that we have dealt with and talked about and discussed and studied time and time and time again. It's nothing new.
