Colonial Narrative Collapse
Our universities taught us that development means following Western models. That's what they taught. That's what they still teach until today. Economics departments treated neoliberalism like it's a science, not a psychopathic ideology. It's an ideology.
International relations programs in our countries presented western models of sovereignty, state, nation state and so forth as universal truth instead of something very peculiar to European history. It's got nothing to do with us. And they made us think in their language. You know, they made English the language of academic and career advancement. That you you if you don't know English, you're not going anywhere.
And with the language came the thinking, came the perspectives, came the world view, came the definitions, came the the paradigms. Western categories became the framework of our own thought. You know, democracy, freedom, international community, human rights, on and on. Every single one of these terms, every single one of these terms, The West monopolized its meaning for themselves according to themselves, claiming they were universal truths, truisms. They treat their opinions as laws of nature and you internalized it.
We internalized it to one degree or another. We looked to Paris, to London, and to New York as markers of civilization. We saw Western education as the gold standard, which is really a joke. We developed contempt for our own systems of knowledge, our own languages, our own ways of organizing society. Like I said, this is just like an abusive spouse or an abusive partner who cuts you off from all your loved ones, cuts you off from your lineage, cuts you off from your culture and your community and from your own memories.
So that they can lock you in their world, in their closed insulated world because their behavior can only be normalized or rationalized in their world. Like I've said before, it's like a cult. The West and America is like a cult. And many global South countries, many global South countries developed Stockholm syndrome at a civilizational level. That's what we call psychological colonization.
They didn't need to occupy us militarily. We occupied ourselves on their behalf. Right? But something is breaking right now in real time. Something is breaking.
All of the rationalizations are collapsing, like I say, under the weight of pattern recognition. And if you're young enough if you're young enough, you don't automatically see it through the filter of lifelong indoctrination. You see it for what it is. So you have fewer and fewer people who are actually raised on any sort of disciplined propaganda frameworks. And this is where the bewilderment is gonna start setting in.
You know? This is what I was talking about in the beginning. The bewilderment of how any of this was allowed to happen. People are looking at it now and they're asking that question because unindoctrinated eyes will look at history and instantly recognize that we're not talking about a series of unfortunate accidents, errors. No.
It's systematic. This is a pattern. This is who they are. This is what they are.
