The United Nations Organization was Corrupted by the U.S from Day One
The conversation has been going on for some time with regards to reform, of the United Nations. And the more that the, global South rises, the more that the BRICS nations rise, the more that the, center of gravity of the global economy shifts and pivots to the East and to the South, I think the more we will see expressions of dissatisfaction among the general assembly at the United Nations and that they they're not going to be satisfied with some sort of temporary, nonpermanent revolving chair on the Security Council, and they they do want to see serious reform. The League of Nations was the precursor to the United Nations, and it was the brainchild, as sister Wahida said, of The United States. But America never joined the League of Nations because they never wanted to subordinate their sovereignty. From the beginning, The US has insisted on exceptionalism.
It's right to be exceptional and to act unilaterally. They never wanted to be a part of any organization of states that deprives them of what they regard as their right to supremacy and to complete unaccountability and impunity in global affairs. The League of Nations, as Sister Waheda said, was a colonialist instrument from the beginning and by design, very specifically and deliberately by design, giving the colonial powers, at that time as she said, the European powers predominantly, giving them what they called mandates over territories and over whole regions over what became nation states, the borders of which they drew. They assumed overlordship, I mean, as the British mandate over Palestine, implemented the Balfour Declaration that started the whole problem that we've had ever since. The League of Nations was then, as sister Hayda said, it was then dissolved because I'll put it this way.
While it was capable of controlling and dominating the colonized, the colonizers could not control each other, and so World War two broke out. And then the United Nations was created in the aftermath of that war, after the colonizing nations of Europe were weakened and were devastated by the consequences of the war, thus allowing the United States to assert its power and its influence and its domination over the United Nations and its ability to wield ultimate control, allowing them therefore to retain their right, what they regard as their right, to act unilaterally and above the law. And they anointed themselves as the de facto leader of the world, which is what the because of the way that the League of Nations was formed, they never wanted to join that because they wouldn't wouldn't preserve what they regarded as their right to supremacy. But when the European colonizing nations were weakened after the war, that gave them the opportunity and it gave them the advantage to where they could set up this new organization of states that was much larger and that would retain their right to act unilaterally and above the law and to exert this power on the Security Council.
I mean, the the UN from the beginning, like you said, was essentially a mechanism for organizing the world order in America's favor. I mean, kept the overall power still in Western colonizing nations. It was still retained the Western centric nature of power and control, but with The US on top. So you had simultaneously with the creation of the UN, had simultaneously the creation of the Bretton Woods system, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and so on, all of which existed essentially to it just existed to add the prefix neo to the word colonialism so that you had colonialism two point o after World War two. And this neo colonialist global order is what has predominated for, you know, almost eighty years now.
And it's on the basis of the way that the United Nations was organized and designed from the beginning. So Sister Rohit is completely correct about that. It's still plausible that that structure cannot be reformed because we're actually not talking I mean, the correct term would not be reform of the United Nations, but rehabilitation of the United Nations because it's been corrupt from day one. And it has to be completely rehabilitated to become essentially a new organization. Essentially it does have to become a new organization.
But you have already, as Brother Fahed said, you have many mechanisms in place, you have many programs in place that are beneficial and that we can identify that the main corrupting influence is The United States, which prevents it from ever being rehabilitated. You have to get rid of that negative influence so that the structure so that the United Nations could potentially achieve what it says it was designed to achieve. That's my opinion. And and then also, strategically, if you want to I I believe sister Wahidia is completely correct in that in that the the formation of bricks and the political, diplomatic, and economic ties that are forming between the BRICS nations and the Global South nations are creating a de facto alternative to the United Nations. Nations are reaching agreements and coordinating.
I mean, we're seeing, as I've mentioned many times, we're seeing a tremendous, just a breathtaking amount of diplomatic coordination between BRICS nations and even some non BRICS nations or nations that just joined BRICS in response to the genocide in Gaza. And all of that is happening outside of the realm of the United Nations. That's all happening outside of the realm and outside of the jurisdiction of the United Nations. It's being done multilaterally between these countries independent of the structure of the United Nations. And they're simply employing or utilizing the structure of the United Nations at this point, including the ICJ, basically to expose the extent to which that structure and that system is corrupt and dominated by The United States.
So I think that all of the momentum of what's been happening with regards to the rise of the Global South and the rise of BRICS, including, as I said, the coordination, the political coordination, the economic coordination between these countries, all of that is working together to isolate The United States, and it creates a momentum specifically for the call to invoke Article six against America and to have them expelled. And I think that, as I said, the end result of that may or may not be the expulsion of The United States from the UN, but it certainly calls into question and brings to the light of day all of the inherent and the flaws in the United Nations that are, as Sister Wahiddah said, coded into the DNA of that institution. Exposing all of that and showing that, for example, United States veto of the ceasefire resolution in Gaza exposed to the world the extent to which the United Nations is corrupt.
