Birmingham City Council Hypocrisy

Someone sent me a video, about, Greenlane Masjid in Birmingham, England in The UK. They were apparently awarded something like a £2,000,000 or more than £2,000,000 worth of funding, from the city council to build a youth center. Now they received around £60,000 from that allotment, and then the rest of it got suspended or canceled because some right wing channel in The UK published excerpts from talks or speeches from imams of the masjid saying things that they said, constituted, misogyny, homophobia, and antisemitism. So I wanted to talk about this because this is another textbook example of Western deflection. I mean, it's pristine in its hypocrisy.

They got mad because in those excerpts, the imam was saying something about how women, how wives should respect and obey their husbands. Controversial belief. And the imam said something about how he didn't want his children, and the Muslims don't want their children, to be taught homosexuality in the schools. And then he said something referring to the so called protocols of Zion. And of course, of this is just, oh, so antithetical to everything that the West stands for.

It's shocking to their sensibilities. How can these Muslims be so backwards, so misogynistic, so intolerant, and all of that? It's utterly appalling, to British values. They can't support people who have such extreme views that are so at odds with the character of that wonderful city. That's the message.

Birmingham is a beacon of equality and tolerance. And these imams, express extremist, regressive, and hateful beliefs that would stun the genteel residents of England's second largest city. Never mind the fact that less than a week after they pulled the funding from the masjid, the city council of Birmingham effectively had to declare bankruptcy because the city council was hit with nearly £800,000,000, in bills to compensate female employees of the city council who have been paid less than their male counterparts, than their male colleagues for the same work that they did for decades. They've been practicing unequal pay for women, in the city council of Birmingham since the nineteen seventies. And so now, they owe compensation to all of those women for shortchanging them to the tune of almost 10 times the city's annual budget.

And this isn't just in the past. This is ongoing. They literally accrue, liability complaints of around £10,000,000 every month. That's female employees of the Birmingham City Council getting underpaid for the same work as men, by the same Birmingham City Council that's acting aghast at the misogyny of an imam saying that wives should respect their husbands. I mean, the city council has gone bankrupt over its persistent devaluing of women monetarily, saying that their work is literally worth less than men's decade after decade, year after year, month after month, day in, day out.

They've bankrupted their city because of their refusal to pay women equally, which is to value women equally. And we're supposed to believe that they're offended by so called misogyny. This is deflection. And all the brother said with regards to LGBT and homosexuality, all he said was that he didn't want his children and Muslims don't want their children, to be taught homosexuality in the schools. And he said that if someone's gay, we don't approve, but we will adhere to the law of the land, and we'll mind our own business about them.

We won't bother them. Meanwhile, Birmingham has one of the highest rates in The UK of so called anti LGBT crimes, and it's reportedly on the rise. It's reportedly increasing year on year. The LGBT community, in Birmingham has had their centers vandalized. They've had hateful graffiti, painted all over their centers.

They've had their property damaged. People have been attacked. They say that gay people, who are living in Birmingham are living in fear of so called homophobic violence in that city. Remember, the Muslims are saying, that imam was saying, that we will obey the law and will leave these people alone if they leave us alone and if if they leave our children alone. That's all he was saying.

But the other people of Birmingham, outside of Greenlane Masjid, they assault and they vandalize and they attack those people. But the Birmingham City Council wants to say that Muslims are the problem when the Muslims are taking a more moderate and more law abiding position than the non Muslims in Birmingham. Again, is because you want to claim to have values that you don't have. And then you wanna castigate the Muslims for being honest about the values that we do have, because those values don't align with the values that you pretend to have but don't. And the values that we actually have, the values that we actually say that we have, we'll say openly what we have, what we believe.

And the values that we actually live by are more moderate, more tolerant, more reasonable than the values that you actually have, that you actually live by, but pretend not to have and pretend not to live by. This is complete deflection. Okay. And then the brother said something in reference to the so called Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which everyone knows is a hoax book, an antisemitic book that's meant to demonize the Jews and propagate the very distinctly European and British conspiracy theory that the Jews run the world. Well, he heard about that book from you.

You people wrote it, you published it, you disseminated it, you believe it, and no one in history has ever been more antisemitic than your people. Birmingham is listed as one of the top five worst cities in The UK for antisemitism. Reportedly, anti Jewish hate crimes have been increasing in Birmingham and across The UK year on year. It's embedded in the culture and has a very long history. But you wanna pretend that a Muslim referring to one of your own anti Semitic books is the problem.

You're mad at him for learning what you taught him. Greenlane Masjid and the Muslims in Birmingham represent the most moderate and the most reasonable and the most law abiding segment of that society. On every side, there are non Muslims who are more antisemitic than they are, more aggressive and more hateful and more violent to the LGBT community than they are. And Birmingham is run by a city council that's so committed to misogyny that they were willing to bankrupt the city for it. But you wanna punish Muslims.

You wanna blame Muslims. You wanna deny Muslims access to resources. Prevent Muslims from helping their community because you can't stand the fact that we're honest about our values and we stand by them. We don't have anything to be ashamed of about our values. But you do.

Because your actual values are manifested in your actions. And in your actions you discriminate against and devalue women. In your actions you're hostile and violent towards homosexuals. And in your actions you persecute Jews. So you have to lie about your values.

And then you overcompensate by pretending that you abhor any and every, form of inequality between men and women as if equality between men and women is even something that can exist. And you pretend that you just love homosexuality, you just think it's wonderful. So you force this issue on everyone, which just creates more, hostility and resentment. And you pretend that you just can't stand the idea of anyone ever discriminating against Jews, even though that's all you have ever done. I mean, Israel only exists because they were running away from you people.

You try to portray yourselves as the complete opposite of what you are, the complete opposite of what you actually believe. You espouse values that are the complete opposite of what you live by. There's no balance with you because you have a guilty conscience. You can't take a moderate position because you don't even have the means for identifying what the moderate position is. You have no criterion.

You're so far to one side, that you think the only way to correct it is to pretend to be on the complete opposite side. You're so morally confused that you can't even identify, what the middle point is. But Muslims have a moderate position. We have moderate values. And these moderate values are manifested in moderate actions.

We have a realistic approach to gender relations. We have a realistic approach to homosexuality. We have a realistic approach to religious tolerance. And you're never gonna solve your problems by going to extremes the way you do, by pretending as much as you do, by arbitrarily dictating, values that are impractical, unreasonable, and unconvincing, and that no one actually believes in. So I think you should fund that youth center and on top of that, an adult center.

So that maybe the brothers and sisters at Greenlane Masjid can teach you how to be actually moderate and responsible citizens. And the first attendees at that center should be the city council members of Birmingham themselves. So that then maybe Birmingham could become less misogynistic, less criminal, less anti semitic, more tolerant. And maybe next time, the city won't go broke pretending to be what it isn't.
